Quality Assurance

Conducting quality assurance according to IIW recommendations

HiFIT follows the guidelines and recommendations outlined in ”IIW Recommendations for the HFMI Treatment”, provided by the International Institute of Welding as well as those in AASHTO. Quality assurance of HiFIT’s HFMI technique is conducted at both qualitative and quantitative levels. Visual inspection of the welded details is carried out before and after treatment to confirm the suitability of the detail for the application and provide an indication of a well-executed post-weld treatment.

Subsequently, local weld geometry measurements are performed to quantify and verify the correct treatment. For HFMI treatment, a minimum indentation of 0.1 – 0.2 mm is an indication of correctly conducted treatment. Measurements are conducted using appropriate tools, imprinting materials, or laser-scanning methods, depending on the specific requirements of the project.
